A Word from the Board Secretary
It is my great honour and pride to share with you SGW ’s experiences in advocacy since its inception, the journey in Advocacy for Gender Equality has been a priority pillar.
SGW’s has contributed to uplifting the social and economic status of women and men through her work of amplifying voices of marginalized groups in the public domain. It has groomed a cohort of foot soldiers of whom I am proud to be a member. The cohort of women and men that SGW has groomed over the years are changing the discourse towards gender transformation and empowerment.
While we acknowledge the pivotal role SGW has played in transforming gender relations in the social, economic and political spheres, it is certain that the challenges remain enormous. We are more than ever committed to confronting the unfinished business in the years to come “and this journey requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders. I hereby appeal to our development partners, government, citizens, every good-hearted and willing person to join us in protecting human dignity of the marginalized communities. Together, we can.”
